Tierney’s P3/4 Overnight Camping Field Trip

A couple of weeks ago Tierney’s class went on an overnight field trip to Kahawa Shamba (“Coffee Field/Farm”) in Moshi.  Two classes (P3/4 and P4/5) from Arusha campus went and met up with a group from the Moshi Campus of ISM.  What a brave group of teachers to take on all these kids for what was for many their first camping experience.  They visited traditional Chagga houses made from banana leaves (Mama Jackie is Chagga and from this area), visited caves, and went for a long hike (T tells me 3 hours).  She had a a great time camping with her friends and came home exhausted the next day…maybe too many s’mores and songs around the campfire?

Flora, Udine and Tierney (of course they are all together).  I’m sure this is what it was like the whole time…kids just sitting around reading Winking smile

Campfire:  songs and s’mores

Tierney with her tentmates.  They were assigned tents and she was happy with the crew that she was with because they were all her friends:  Emilie (Denmark), Stephanie (UK via France), and Dana (Israel)

Lovely setting with views of Kili

All of the kids:  pic one is Arusha campus and pic 2 is both campuses.

I love that they get these kind of experiences here.
