From the Adirondacks, we drove on to Cape Cod to spend our final week in America with the Brown family. After very hectic schedules in Colorado and New York, it was a nice change of pace to get to the Cape and spend our time reading at the house, playing track ball, making sand castles, flying kites, and taking long walks on the beach. (Admittedly I missed out on a lot of the beach time since I was working, but it sure looks like it was fun). We also went into Chatham to the fish pier where we got to watch the fisherman unload their daily catch. Matt and I stayed behind and went out for drinks and a fancy dinner at the Impudent Oyster to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary a few days early. Lovely!
On our final full day in American we took a picnic into the Boston Public Garden so that the kids could “be in a book”. A favorite children’s book, Make Way for Ducklings, takes place here. The kids were excited to be able to feed the ducks and swans and take a ride in the swan boat. Just like in the book.
A great week of eating seafood and way too much ice cream, quality kid time with Grammy Webb, Grandpa Jeff, Auntie Zard, and Sevn, and a final shopping trip to Target. A great way to end a crazy and wonderful month of travel.
Thanks to everyone along the way for hosting us. You made the trip very special for all of us.
