What our evening looked like on Wednesday:
5:00-6:00 – Lisa makes dinner while kids wreak havoc around me. Trying to get everything done in time for a 6pm conference call. Dinner put in oven to keep warm until Matt gets home from work, so that he can feed kids.
6:00 – Matt still not home from work, so Lisa asks begs children to be quiet and well behaved until daddy gets home while mommy is on a phone call.
6-8:00 pm – Lisa on conference calls, Matt arrives home and feeds kids dinner and gets them bathed. Lisa only sees Matt when he brings her in a plate of food so she can eat while on calls. We wave hello’s to each other.
8:00 – Lisa gets off calls (finally) and helps put girls to bed while Matt gets Anderson asleep in time for Matt to make his 8:30 call.
9:00 – Lisa in bed, Matt still on conference call. Lisa falls asleep before even talking to Matt.
Thankfully, not every night is like this, but it happens often enough.
